Oneone pushes against what social media has become.
Here, all posts are treated equally. There are no users with a voice louder than others, and there's no notion of a 'follower'.
While curation has become the norm on social media, this has pushed society into tightly bundled groups. Oneone provides a public platform where anyone in the world can publish and reach the same audience.
Only one post is shared each day, giving it just enough time to shine before the next one. This removes the endless stream of fresh content that tries to keep you glued to your screen for that extra minute longer.
Posts are picked and published randomly. This encourages writers to be more intentional about what they write. While social media encourages creators to produce an endless stream of content, we push back against this notion. Because you can't be sure when your post will be shared, you're encouraged to share something that can withstand the test of time, not the next news cycle.
Starting is simple, just create an account and write. You have a maximum of 6,000 characters and you can write about any topic you like, so long as it abides by our basic community guidelines.
Oneone is intended to be a social media platform that more accurately reflects the way ideas are shared in the real world. Because unlike the digital safe havens that have been shaped around us, the real world is full of diversity and randomness.
With all that said, we are a nascent, independent platform that's just finding our roots, so sign up, post and have fun. Members can also help shape oneone into the social media platform they want it to become.
